RMC PLUMBING SERVICES have been researching our water supply quality and what effects it has on your health.
With our search for answers to the questions on water quality and what actions we should take to ensure what we drink, cook with and wash in is of the best quality we can expect. Well we have found some amazing results to our search on water quality and how it effects our health.
No this is not a scare campaign on water or an attack on our governing bodies whom are responsible for our water quality it is just information from the “International Journal of Preventative Medicine”. It is noted that the governing bodies that supply our drinking water through our reticulated water distribution network of pipework throughout your area have an obligation to meet the standards of the WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION (WHO).
The water quality which is supplied through our water meters is just above the minimum level required by WHO. There is nothing to worry about BUT there is certain concerns which has been published by the International Journal of Preventative Medicine stating the proven effects HARD WATER has on the human body. In the article there is various studies scientifically proving that certain HARD WATER types DO have effects on our bodies.
By reading the attached information (see link below) taken from the International Journal of Preventative medicine you may see the importance for the need to filter or soften your water supply to ensure your families health is optimised and all steps are taken to improve your health.
RMC PLUMBING SERVICES take water filtering and water softening very seriously and wish to offer all our clients an opportunity to have their water sample assessed at your home and provide solutions as to what you can do to improve the water quality.
THE FOLLOWING ABSTRACT IS TAKEN FROM THE OPENING STATEMENT OF THE “JOURNAL OF PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE”
In the past five decades or so evidence has been accumulating about an environmental factor, which appears to be influencing mortality, in particular, cardiovascular mortality, this is the hardness of the drinking water. In addition , several epidemiological investigations have demonstrated the relation between risk for cardiovascular disease, growth retardation, reproductive failure, and other health problems and hardness of drinking water or it’s content of magnesium and calcium. In addition, the acidity of the water influences the reabsorption of calcium and magnesium in the renal tubule. Not only, calcium and magnesium, but other constituents also affect different health aspects. Thus, the present reviews attempt to explore the health effects of hard water and it’s constituents.
